Accomplishments
- In 2009, more than 1,500 volunteers provided more than 12,000 hours of service to Girls Inc. members and their families.
- In 2009, more than 1,000 individuals, corporations, and foundations provided financial support for the 4,660 girls who participated in programs at the center in Costa Mesa and outreach sites throughout Orange County.
- In 2008 the Girls Inc. Guild was founded. Within two months membership grew to over 100 members strong. Within its first year, the group raised over $165,000!
- In 2009 the Girls Inc. Guild raised an additional $75,000 in memberships and proceeds from events.
- Girls Incorporated was one of eight Orange County organizations named a 2009 Season of Caring charity by the Orange County Register and the Festival of Children Foundation.
- Girls Incorporated was number 52 on "The List: Newport-Mesa's Top 103 Most Influential of 2009" (compiled by The Daily Pilot)
- Since 1996, 33 Girls Incorporated of Orange County members have won college scholarships from our national organization which have totaled $277,000.
- Since 2002, programs have grown by 67%, allowing us to expand into high-need areas throughout the county.
- Nationally, Girls Inc. was recognized by Money Magazine as one of the top 20 social service agencies in its annual Best Charities in America report.
- The leadership of the agency, including the Executive Director, Program Director and Volunteer Director, have 49 years of combined program and management experience.
