Volunteers

Volunteers play a key role at Girls Incorporated of Orange County. In 2010, more than 1,500 volunteers helped deliver our programs and resources to the girls we serve.

There are a variety of ways to participate as a volunteer, including:

  • Becoming a Homework Helper and Academic Tutor.
  • Assisting with National Girls Inc. programs and curriculum.
  • Facilitating a sports or physical activity program.
  • Coordinating a music, art, dance, or drama activity.
  • Organizing specialty workshops for girls.
  • Be a guest speaker and share your expertise with our teen girls.
  • Join a Girls Inc. supporting committee or group.

We have opportunities for corporate and community members to volunteer, as well as internship opportunities for high school, college, and graduate school students.

Those interested in volunteering should plan to attend one of our Girls Inc. 101 workshops. These workshops are held several times a month and discuss Girls Incorporated of Orange County as an organization, our various programs and volunteer opportunities, as well as volunteer expectations and requirements. Please contact volunteers@girlsinc-oc.org to reserve your attendance at the next workshop.

Volunteers can play a role at either the Main Center, one of our many outreach sites, join a group, or get involved in a project or special event. Click here to learn more about our specific programs.
