Inspire a Girl – Submit a Message
As students go back to school, it is important for us to continue our relationship with girls throughout Orange County. We want girls to be reminded that we are still in their corner by writing messages of encouragement and inspiration during this critical time. It’s simple! To get started, you may select one or more of the following age groups to address your messages.
We kindly ask that messages be addressed towards the following ages groups:
• Lower Elementary: Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
• Upper Elementary: 3rd through 5th Grade
• Middle School: 6th through 8th Grade
• High School: 9th through 11th Grade
• High School: Graduating Seniors
To support this effort, please email your messages to the Volunteer Services Department at Volunteer@girlsinc-oc.org.
Below are sample messages:
Lower Elementary: Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
“You’re back to school! How exciting! You are going to learn and grow so much! Be curious and have fun. Use your imagination and ask as many questions as you can. Be kind to others and enjoy making new friends. I hope you have a wonderful school year full of laughs, many great books, and amazing memories! ☺”
High school: Graduating Seniors
“My favorite quote by Maya Angelou is, ‘my mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with passion, some compassion, some humor, some style.’ I hope you survive and thrive this school year! Be kind to yourself, try you best, and have fun! Be strong, smart, and bold.”
Some additional topics you can include in your message:
- Literacy – the importance of reading or your favorite book
- STEM – personal stories about your journey in a STEM field and or a message encouraging girls in STEM
- Study Tips – related to time management, organization, virtual learning, etc.
- Motivation – your favorite quote or a personal story of how you overcame a hard time in your youth or in school
