A very special thank you to our top donors, Hoag Hospital, and two of our Girls Inc. Board Members, Gena Reed & Susan Wampler who graciously matched their donations!
On Saturday, May 2nd 25 Girls Inc. girls ran the Kids Run the OC portion of the Avia OC Marathon. Hoag Hospital played a pivotal role in this run by not only sponsoring the t-shirts that each girl recieved to represent Girls Inc. while running, but they also sponsored the entry fees for all 25 girls participants. The girls had a great time running and recieving their medals at the finish line. After ten weeks of physical training and nutrition education many of the girls set new personal records for their mile run times. Thank you Hoag Hospital for making this happen for our girls! Congratulations ladies on all of your hard work and accomplishments!
On Sunday, May 3rd the rest of Team Girls Inc. was in high gear running the marathon, half-marathon, or doing the 5K Run/Walk portions of the Avia OC Marathon. It was a great day full of music, sweat, and Girls Inc. pride. Thank you to all of our donors, volunteers, runners, and walkers for Team Girls Inc.! It is because you and your dedication to our organization that we were able to surpass our fundraising goal for this event.
