SUMMER PROGRAM: Girls Inc. Smart-Ups

Welcome to Girls Inc. Smart-Ups, where Girls Mean Business! YESS Entrepreneurship Academy is now Girls Inc. Smart-Ups! One of the most popular summer programs for over 20 years, girls learn leadership, economic literacy, and business skills by creating their own mini-society and opening up their own businesses! Their companies elect directors, form a business plan, develop products and marketing, determine profit margins and customer service strategies. The program concludes with an open house where supporters from the community shop for their products and services. Join us on the campus of Chapman University to become a strong, smart, bold entrepreneur!

Girls Inc. Smart-Ups is open to current 3rd – 5th grade girls and will run from July 1st-July 31st, 2019. For questions about Girls Inc. Smart-Ups, please contact Sarah Hernandez at shernandez@girlsinc-oc.org or (714) 597-8610.

Girls Inc. offers structured programs at select Elementary Schools across the county. Nationally and locally developed programs are designed to equip girls to achieve academically; lead healthy and physically active lives; manage money; navigate social and mass-media influences; and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Elective programs also offered at the Melinda Hoag Smith Center for Healthy Living and the Costa Mesa Family Resource Center and include: creative, culinary & fine arts; character and leadership development; literacy; community awareness and more.

In addition to programs for girls, we offer family enrichment workshops, family fun nights, and additional resources to help build strong families and to promote involvement of parents/guardians in all aspects of their girls’ lives.
